Wingmen

The Wingmen started out in autumn 2006. After initially being a covers band for a year, they began to write and play their own material, gradually letting it fill up their sets. Their first album 'Look at You' was released in February 2013, after a lengthy recording process hampered by death, marriage and divorce. They play once or twice a month at Pendor Corner in Beyoglu, and various other venues throughout Istanbul. In 2011 they played at Rock and Coke Festival on the City Stage (Şehir Sahnesi). Unfortunately, shortly after the release of the album, guitarist Nate Fackler had to leave Turkey, and was replaced by Marat Zagidullin, who has made a large impact on the band's sound since joining. Both Marat and Erdem are now contributing to songwriting, making it a far more collaborative process. Bassist Aaron Abrook also left Turkey in 2015, being replaced by Arya Afshar who plays in a number of outfits including Kinesis and Rubber Walrus.
