About White Oak And Stuyvesant

Perth Post Rock outfit WOAS have spent years together writing, recording and only releasing the very best of their music, over the course of the last few months since their Debut self titled EP, WOAS have been working on their debut full length album, and are now proud to release the single "Plastic Box" From session recordings with Perth music legend Andy Lawson of Debaser studios, Mixing by Simon Todkill and Mastering by Leon Zervos both of internationally acclaimed Studios 301, WOAS have come out swinging with a floor stomping rock anthem in "Plastic Box" "It’s so hard to review singles and as a rule that’s why we don’t at The Rockpit but Perth post-rock band White Oak and Stuyvesant is just one of those names that conjures up such a compelling image of cheap aftershave and cigarettes that you have to listen. The song ‘Plastic Box’ is also just one of those songs you have to comment on, and without seeing them live it’s hard to tell how representative it might be of the band itself. What you get here is almost four minutes of foot-stomping anthemic rock and it’s the sort of song (culled from their recent album sessions) that makes you thing this band could be huge despite their largely unpronounceable and spellable name. If you like your rock to gaze at the shoes and yet soar to the skies, with a nineties vibe and some great clean guitars and a neat hook, then it’s a track well worth checking out and one that will have you eagerly anticipating a full-length release." - Leslii Phillips, The Rock Pit "Clean hooky guitars with a 90's sensibility and concise unclouded lyrics - dig it!"
