While Paris Sleeps

Created at the end of the year 2011, While Paris Sleeps started as an acoustic side project from three friends, members of different bands from Quebec City’s local scene. Their goal with this project was to have fun and write music that would be smooth, catchy but also aggressive. The original line-up was Nickolas Verrecchia (vocals), Frédérik Paré (guitar) and Simon Nicol (guitar). With their unique sound and the power of their first demo song You’ve Become The One I Hate, While Paris Sleeps rose very quickly from a side project to being more popular than each member's main band. A lot of local shows followed, as the band opened for bands such as Northcote (Black Box Records), Teenage Kicks (SONY) and Reverse The Curse (Paper+Plastik Records), as well as participating to Make Music Quebec City. The band then recorded their first single My Sickness in Montreal with producer Luc Tellier (Simple Plan, Marie-Mai, The New Cities, Forever The Light, etc.). After that, the band went on a five shows in five nights tour through Quebec and Ontario, all booked with a D.I.Y. philosophy. This tour gave them the opportunity to headline a sold out show in Quebec City and to play their first gigs in Toronto, Peterborough, Barrie and Sherbrooke. With their growing in popularity and the upcoming show offers, two new members were added to the band, to face that challenge. Frédérico Verrecchia (bass & vocals) and Maxime Barrette (drums). Then, While Paris sleeps returned in studio with Luc Tellier for another recording session, from which resulted their second single Masters Of Disaster. The band has since done a lot of shows through the province of Quebec and shared the stage with bands such as : Make Do And Mend (Rise Records), Tigers Jaw, Seahaven, Young Statues, all signed on Run For Cover Records. After almost finishing recording their first EP with an internationally reputed produced, near 30 shows through Quebec and Ontario in less than a year, a second place at l’Omnium du Rock, the biggest battle of the bands in the province of Quebec and lots of experience gained, Quebec City’s While Paris Sleeps start 2013 more motivated than ever.
