When We Return

W.W.R. was formed from the remains of In Your Memory, a local Akron area band that broke up in April of 2013. Featuring Jason Funk on vocals, Chase Bertka on guitar, and Corey May on bass, they picked up Brandon Farley on guitar and Emily Hughes on drums. However, Brandon left to pursue his own project, As Dark As Day, and to fill his place they picked up another guitarist, Mark Manes. The band then parted ways with Emily, and after a long search found a new drummer, Jay Phillips, who was happy to join the project. The band is currently writing music and expects to have an EP, titled "And So It Ends," released in 2015. Facts about the band members: Two members- Corey and Jason- are members of the Ohio Army National Guard. Chase has been playing guitar since he was two years old. His mother has videos to prove it. When we asked Mark if there was anything he wanted included here, he said, "Eeeeehhhh, not reeeally.... Just put my name." So here it is: Mark's name is Mark Manes. A five piece metal band based out of the Rubber City, Akron, Ohio. Our first EP, Overcome, is currently in production and will be released Aug 5, 2016.
