Weeknites

Seattle-based, Weeknites mixes a clever blend of indie rock and post-punk with dream pop confection. You A Lot (Swoon Records, July 2016), the follow up to their self-released debut EP, Sweetheart (2015), is an ethereal, haunting collection comprised of four addictive, synth-drenched guitar hybrids about confusion, self-evaluation and food. The sophomore EP’s roster ranges from lovelorn power pop that sucks the air out of the room like “Little Bitter” to the ballad-like incantation “Sable.” Although cohesive as an EP, You A Lot is highlighted by the diversity of its tracks as it exhibits Weeknites’ inability to remain static.
