We Built The Kingdom

Post-Hardcore/Metalcore/Djent rockers "We Built The Kingdom" are looking to build an empire with their music from “the ground up”. The Northern Virginia natives, who started the band in July 2012, certainly have big things planned for the future. With the upcoming release of their EP "While We Exist", and a tour in the works, We Built The Kingdom is looking to hit big as one of those underground bands you've never heard of, but should know about. We Built The Kingdom is composed of Greg Smith (Scream vocals,) Dale Wilt (guitar), Zaviere Murrell (Clean vocals, guitars), Aaron Wilson (Bass), and Everett Hardy (Drums). The seeds of We Built The Kingdom were planted long before these guys ever started a band. Frontman Greg Smith and guitarist Dale Wilt go back as being friends who went to high school together and shared “the same tastes and motivations for music”. “We met- says guitarist Dale Wilt. -We both wanted the same things. So, we've always been in a band together.” Prior to starting We Built the Kingdom, Greg and Dale were in various other local (Virginia) metalcore bands including, When Day Breaks, Forgiving Alexius. After leaving Forgiving Alexius in April 2011, Wilt and Smith took a hiatus from being in the band for a period of time to recouperate ideas. In July 2012, the duo joined forces for the third time and created WBTK. Guitarist Dale Wilt originally came up with the name We Built The Kingdom. According to Wilt, the reason he came up with that name was this newly formed band (which had come to because of various members leaving other bands) had “decided we were gonna "build our own kingdom" from the ground up. Every song, every beat, every note, and every word we sing.” Nine months later the band has a 10 track EP (which will include “a dark interlude and intro”) due out August 2013.
