About WaveRadio
The award winning Philadelphia area power trio WaveRadio has a massive sound, far greater than it’s parts. Rooted in big riff classic rock, soul, and blues; James McLaughlin, Colin McGetrick, and Chris Cotter continue to wow their listeners with creative infusions of psychedelic, groove, and alternative sounds. Thunderous bass, etherial soundscapes, and incessant beats support McGetrick’s raw, honest and introspective vocals for energy laden, blood- pumping live sets.
WaveRadio recently delivered their network television debut on CBS in cooperation with global music marketplace Hearo.fm. They performed their award winning 2016 single Wire Walker. The band now holds three Homey Awards via 93.7 FM WSTW. Those include: Best Drummer - Chris Cotter, Best Keyboardist - James McLaughlin and Song of The Year - Wire Walker by Colin McGetrick. WaveRadio also recently took first place in Philadelphia's Beta Hi Fi* competition. In 2016, the band released a compelling and evocative soundtrack for feature length documentary, "Refugee: The Eritrean Exodus" in cooperation with The National and Wilmington DE hip hop artist Richard Raw.
Currently, WaveRadio is mixing their third studio work, planned for release in winter of 2017. For more information, video and music, visit www.waveradiomusic.com.
* “WaveRadio took the stage first, and immediately established themselves as the act to beat. The West Chester band has an impressively full sound for only being a three-piece – James McGlaughlin plays a pair of keyboards in the Ray Manzarek style, where the left hand carries the high lead melodies and the right hand runs the baseline...Considerably better were their originals, which incorporated some of that Doors-y sense of wandering psychedelia but was probably more in line with the buoyant pop of Jukebox the Ghost and the cinematic anthems of fun. Colin McGetrick has a dynamic voice; Chris Cotter’s drumming is uptempo and on point.” Article: WaveRadio, RFA take Top Honors at Beta Hi Fi Philly”
