Waking Up Dead

Officially formed on New Years day of 2011, Waking Up Dead put together their first practice in the basement of lead guitarist Matt Kufrovich. Long story short, due to musical differences we had to make changes to the lineup. In July of 2011 we welcomed in Joe Turner originally as a temp to play a hometown show; little did we know he'd become our beloved permanent drummer and friend over the next couple of months. Tyler Smarr would soon take over the bass guitar duties, and Waking Up Dead's permanent lineup would be Joe Koons (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Matt Kufrovich (Lead Guitar, backing vocals), Joe Turner (drums) and Tyler Smarr (bass). We knew we had something special; we knew we had a sound like no other. Everything felt right. As time progressed, many original songs have been written and tracked at the recording studio with our good friend Leon Karpovich at Shadow Sound in Morea, PA. This band was propelled to the next level when we officially signed with the PRG Music record label. Ever since then we've been getting amazing feedback from all of our fans. We don't know how far this band can take us, but so far it's been a great experience nonetheless. Expect a full length album entitled "Count the Seconds" coming in late 2012 and much more from this band.
