Volcano Diving INC.

Formed in November 2011, Volcano Diving INC was started as a side project for guitarist Matthew, bassist Ian, and drummer Eric. Formerly members of a cover band "Salt Stake", Matthew, and Ian became more interested in original composition. While performing with Salt Stake, the band's drummer departed indefinitely, bringing upon a new drummer to fill the spot. Eric, replying to a Craigslist Post, was asked to audition for Salt Stake. Unfortunately, before the audition Salt Stake's drummer announced he wished to return, and was welcomed back despite Matthew and I wanting to move ahead with Eric. Taking this as an opportunity, Ian emailed Eric the situation, mentioning that he and Matthew were interested in starting up a project more geared towards producing original music. Matthew, Ian, and Eric, began rehearsing together, but came to a halt in January 2012 due to Eric's cost of travel from Wisconsin to Minneapolis. Spring of 2012, Ian and another guitarist started jamming together on System of a Down riffs with the intent to form a System of a Down cover band. Having a set list created and vocalist lined up, Eric was asked to join the project. August 2012, the guitarist left the project, and Matthew was asked to fill in, though with Eric, Matthew, and Ian working together once again, the System of a Down cover project was tossed aside and were back to writing material.
