Vokal Nord

Vokal Nord is a choir ensemble based in Tromsø. The ensemble is known for its crispy clear arctic sound focusing on modern Nordic a cappella music and older European music with a special focus on the Baroque period. In the concert series “Histories of the North” produced by Festspillene I Nord Norge the ensemble explores Samí vocal traditions and mixing this with a contemporary expression creating a Gesamtkunstwerk about the creation and development of the Northern culture.
