About Victory Boy

Victory Boy's unique blend of thrash metal and punk rock has recently caused a loud ruckus on the Mid Atlantic music scene. It all started out when guitarist/vox, Buddy Yarnall and drummer, Lee "Toodle" Casey began hashing out songs in their West Grove, PA basement in the spring of 2013. Inspired by bands ranging from Motorhead and Clutch to Off With Their Heads, Yarnall and Casey wrote fast and aggressive songs, bridging styles of punk, thrash, and metal together to highlight their strengths and influences. After 5 months of laying down a solid foundation, they scouted out the help of Wilmington DE bassist, Paul Lemley to add the final element. Within a few days, the band had their first show booked at 1984's Barcade in Wilmington DE for Sep 21 2013. The V Boys had approximately one month to secure a set list down well enough to make a first impression on the scene. Ironically enough, Lemley was called away for a work assignment and was not going to be able to play the debut show with New Jersey's Honah Lee and local skatepunkers Keep For Yourself. The boys then made a decision that was to become the backbone of Victory Boy's work ethic: "We'll play it anyway!" -and they did... with the same positive attitude despite any obsticle. Upon Lemley's return, the band quickly booked a 2nd show, then a third, and a forth and hit the scene running at full force until their name started circulating in every corner of the mid-atlantic scene. At the beginning of 2015, Paul Lemley stepped down from the band to move back to West Virginia and Disaster Committee guitarist, Lee Tarczynski was able to fill his spot and keep things moving. Victory Boy plans to spend their sophmore year covering as much ground as possible, making new friends, partying with old friends, and having as much fun playing punk rock as fast as possible. If you happen to catch us at a show, come say "hi", we'd love to share stories, the good ones and the bad ones of listening to records in the basement, drinking beers in the ally, skating til the sun comes up, or learning about life at punk rock shows. Self Titled 7" record available at Interpunk.com, TourVanRecords.storenvy, and Creep Records. EP #2 on the way, now get out there and have some fun.
