About Unkeepable

Unkeepable is an Edinburgh based singer/songwriter (Stephen G Marsden) who following the success of his first two singles (Pedestal and Ten years) has spent 2016 gigging up and down the country at gigs and festivals such as Tramlines, Butefest and more. He will be releasing his debut EP 'Home is where the heart stops' in November 2016. Recorded at Kyoti Studio in Glasgow and produced by Mark Freegard (Manic Street Preachers, Del Amitri, Eddi Reader) and featuring musicians from projects such as Simple Minds, The Proclaimers and Del Amitri – Home is where the heart stops’ is a truly Scottish record combining contemporary views on modern life in Britain combined with the clashing influences of mainstream pop with 70’s and 80’s guitar rock. A chance meeting on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street gave Unkeepable the opportunity he had hoped for: recording with a chart topping producer. Marsden was busking on the busy street when he was given a business card by a stranger and told to call the number on it. He later found the stranger to be Mark Freegard, a Glasgow based producer who has worked with Manic Street Preachers, Marilyn Manson, Del Amitri, The Proclaimers, Deacon Blue and many more. But this cliché doesn’t tell the whole story. Unkeepable has played over 1000 gigs in the last three years, crafting his live show and songwriting on the Edinburgh, Manchester, Hull and Leicester music scenes. From being made homeless in Manchester and hitchhiking, busking and sleeping rough in Europe to supporting ‘Mike Skinner and the Streets’ and opening up for America’s Got Talent finalist ‘Piff the Magic Dragon’. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ‘The lyrics have a melancholic, almost forlorn feel to them while he fills the room with a big sound that has an almost stadium, anthem vibe to it.’ - 7ahead.com Blog ‘It’s different, but also pretty damn incredible. The lyrics speak to you and make you feel like you are experiencing it yourself. Look out for this guy; he will rock your world!' - Captainskydiver blog ‘Though we may not be writers and are able to express our own experiences, frontman Stephen certainly can and puts it all onto a notepad for us to relate to - If you are looking for some light listening this is a perfectly written pop sing-a-long single; - Fortune Promotions blog ‘Unkeepable is so giving in the song and almost vulnerable that you feel privileged that he has chosen to share such an intimate issue with you. Pedestal reaches a height that many musicians aspire to reach; it’s charming, honest and finely balanced in it’s raw emotion and heartfelt sentiment.’ - Out in the Crowd Blog Edinburgh based Singer-Songwriter releasing his debut EP in November 2016!
