Travis King

Born May 4th 1971, Travis is an American songwriter. Lyrically, his songs are as honest as an open letter for all to read. As a talented soulful guitarist, his strong sense of musicianship is undeniable. Travis' musical style ranges from folk to a full rock and roll band. Travis has been recording his own demos since age 14. It has always been a writing tool for him. His recordings are often reminiscent of Pete Townshend demos. Some are as raw as guitar and a vocal, while others are more elaborate. Either way, there is a definite charm about them. One of the hallmarks of his sound is the use of alternate tunings and weaved guitar parts that are loose and tight at the same time. His love for Bob Dylan, The Band, Pete Townshend, Wilco, The Drive By Tuckers, Jason Isbell, and The Rolling Stones are undeniable and continue to inspire his songwriting. As a guitarist steeped in the blues his influences are everpresent. The likes of, Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jerry Garcia, Freddie, Albert and B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins, Fred Mcdowell, Hubert Sumlin and of course Keith Richards are indeed heard. With his musical foundation and life experiences songs are born and played.
