This Renaissance

Founded in 2011, the Albany, NY based This Renaissance, is comprised of 5 talented musicians who have been part of the bustling 518 music scene in one way or another for the better part of their lives. TomiJo Wood (Vocals), Colin Miner (Vocals & Lead Guitar), Chris Conine (Guitar), Jason Restina (Drums) and Tim Goodspeed (Bass), have all put in their dues playing with different acts in the area over the years in an array of different genres, but found true artistic cohesion when they linked up to form This Renaissance. A group of individuals with a true understanding of the term "DIY", This Renaissance don't want to wait for opportunities to drop out of the sky. Instead, they create them for themselves. Regularly posting in-house produced music videos & update videos to stay in touch with their fan base as well as reach new listeners, offering up new covers chosen by fans and hitting the streets to promote their music. The understanding of a grass roots effort to get their music heard echoes throughout the group and it is a driving force behind their daily activity. The quintet is working tirelessly to create an infectious fusion of melody driven Modern Pop/Rock and the kinetic energy of Pop/Punk. With driving guitars, powerfully melodic vocals and sing-a-long worthy choruses, This Renaissance captures your attention from the get go. Drawing on influences from bands like Go Radio, Mayday Parade, Sleeping With Sirens, Story of the Year and My Chemical Romance, This Renaissance has developed a sound all their own, paired with an energetic and engaging live show. Sharing the stage previously with bands like Sparks the Rescue, Kingsfoil, Divided by Friday, Von Shakes, Trapt, With The Punches, Polar Bear Club, Jamie’s Elsewhere, Far From Proper, Icon For Hire, These Hearts, William Control, Black Veil Brides, Sandlot Hero's, Rookie Of The Year, Envoi, and local indie heavyweights, Stellar Young, This Renaissance also prove themselves to be versatile and willing to take on the challenge of winning over crowds outside their genre.
