The Zilis

After touring relentlessly – often playing three, hour-long sets a night to promote a debut album that garnered them a ‘Drummer of the Year’ award and a ‘Rock Recording of the Year’ nomination at the 2012 Hamilton Music Awards – THE ZILIS returned to Studio 410 in the summer of 2013 to record their sophomore album, ‘Sketches II’. Following the release of their second self-produced effort in early 2014, THE ZILIS toured Southern Ontario and filmed a brand new music video with Southern Souls. They played alongside several notable acts throughout the year (The Sheepdogs, U.S.S., Said The Whale) and made numerous festival appearances (Sound Of Music Festival, Come Together Music Festival, Supercrawl) before embarking on a three-week tour of the United States. THE ZILIS released three music videos in 2015, and their album, ‘Sketches II’, earned them ‘Bassist of the Year’ and ‘Alternative/Indie Rock Recording of the Year’ accolades at the 2015 Hamilton Music Awards. In the summer, they were informed that their song, 'Diamondback', was in heavy rotation on American satellite radio. The group is currently working on their longest and finest album to date.
