About The West African Blues Project

West African Blues Project Having already built himself a reputation as a great blues guitarist (working with the likes of Eric Bibb & Boo Boo Davies, Eric Burdon, Pee Wee Ellis and founder of the Nublues project), Ramon Goose was introduced to the world of African music and was inspired by what he found.Keen to learn more and influenced by the work of good friend Justin Adams, he set about exploring the idea of combing the beauty of West African music with the soul of Blues. This led him to teaming up with Senegalese kora player Diabel Cissokho, a member of the renowned griot family of musicians with a rich musical heritage and known for his 3 years with Baba Maal. The result was the release of Mansana Blues an album packed full of superb soul searching melodies and well received by the media. The album's profile bought the attention of Modou Toure (son of Toure Kunda singer Ousmane Toure) and a meeting with Ramon set them both on a spellbound journey to majestically take the blues back to its birth place. The West African Blues Project was born This is a meeting of minds; a meeting of cultures and two styles of music that seem to blend so well together it just seems natural. No two concerts are the same as each musician takes opportunity for self expression, interacting with each other as collectively they feed off the vibe of the audience. The result; a fabulous high energy blend of intoxicating rhythm. ……..you are all invited along for the ride.
