Initially formed in 2012 by singers/instrumentalists Immy, Ione and Katie, the band has evolved from a mostly covers based acoustic outfit into a full, electrified band with a largely original repertoire and entirely new sound. Joined in late 2015 by drummer Josh and organist Joel, The Velveteens have since played many exciting venues and shows around the country and several inner city festivals such as 100 Club London, Jazz Café Camden and Live At Leeds Festival, with plenty more shows on the way. With a sound that is still relevant whilst nodding to its past influences, as well as a distinctive look and on stage style, The Velveteens create an individual, varied and enjoyable set, thanks in no small part to their energetic stage presence, tight harmonies and infectious melodies.
