About The Unemployed
We started playing together as a band on 20th June 2010, but before that we had all been playing on our own for about a year or two. Our first gig was just two weeks after our first practice together. We played three songs; 'Sweet Home Alabama', 'Knocking on Heavens Door' and 'Sweet Child of Mine'. We chose these songs partly because they were songs that we had all been playing for a long time and partly because we knew our audience would be mainly adults who had grown up with these songs. It was held at the Wharehine Hall with a crowd of about 65 people. Overall it was a brilliant performance with everyone playing well together. We received a lot of great comments and everyone was amazed it was the first time The Unemployed had taken to the stage. Since then we've come a long way, having done about 12 gigs so far and learn't lots of songs together. 2011 We both have our ROCKSCHOOL certificates; Marck drum level 4 and Robby guitar level 3 2012 until now Sorry that Bryce is not playing with us anymore, but we are still going strong and playing a lot of cool songs. Still playing at gig's and loving it. Hope to perform at the Rockquest again this year. Have done some awesome gig's this year and are going to do some more Rockschool exams !
