About The Sonic Revolvers

THE SONIC REVOLVERS BIOGRAPHY The Sonic Revolvers are a four piece rock band from Cheshire UK. They consist of Darrell Tinsley(vocals) Richey Jones(guitar) Sam McMahon(drums) & Anthony Young (bass). The band started out as the brainchild of guitarist and songwriter Richey Jones and formed together as band in late 2010. The band’s sound is of an alternative rock laced with melody and emotion, being described by Louder than War as '...British Heavy Rock of the Twenty Tens, precise basslines, crunchy guitar riffs, clear and clean drums and riffs aplenty with a clear and throaty vocal.' The band have gigged extensively across the country since May 2011 taking in more miles than Phileas Fogg. They released their debut album ‘Songs for the Revolution’ in the same year which let them serve their brand of rock with lyrics about social change and political uprising. This was visually delivered with the video that saw its thought provoking message reach thousands of fans, all encouraged to ‘Scream Their Revolution’. The band are firm believers in putting on a show and believe that the connection between the band and the audience is a special one and that all efforts should be taken to maximise the impact of the songs and give a performance to remember. They are not afraid of doing things in a big way- The bigger the better. The band followed up the debut with a five track EP called ‘Suns of Mercury’ which was released in January 2013. It was reviewed by many with quips such as 'Absolutely brilliant stuff from a massive-sounding band and I can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.' from Soundscape Magazine. This EP saw the band spread their musical wings and give a greater clarity and production to the songs, delivering a knock out EP that received wide acclaim from many writers and video views reaching over 7000. Heading into 2014 was an exciting time for the band. They had just completed work on three new singles with world renowned producer Greg Haver who has worked with the likes of Manic Street Preachers and completed two tours in support of the singles which were released in March, June and September. Four Culture Magazine described the singles, 'If this what The Sonic Revolvers are capable of producing, then the forthcoming album should be just as good.' With Musings of A Music Fan adding 'After hearing three songs from them this year I’m a definite fan, and itching to see a full album get made and released so that all the greatness can be gathered in one place!' 'Loco Lifestyle', 'Wishing Well' and 'Can You Hear Me?' have achieved what the band had set out to do with the tracks, they have made the impact, gained national BBC Radio airplay, ('Loco' was played on Dermot O'Leary's show) and they have made people sit up and take notice of a rock band knocking on doors, making a noise and putting some great music out there.
