The Smokin' Tones

Zach Avery & The Smokin' Tones was formed in September 2016 as the official band of Columbia College Chicago's late night show, Columbia Tonight. Avery was made the show’s musical director, and in preparation for the show's premier, he posted flyers around campus with the hope of finding a band that could write and perform music tailored for the show. Shortly after, six other classmates came together and became The Smokin’ Tones. When Columbia Tonight ended in May 2017, the band stuck together and ventured out into Chicago’s local music scene. This began their journey to play music that moved the body and soul, driven by guitar and an undeniably tight groove. The Smokin' Tones have continued to perform unique twists on Rock n’ Blues songs that appeal to a wide variety of listeners.
