The Parish Church Fire

The Parish Church Fire are a 5 piece Alternative Hard Rock band from Manchester founded and fronted by Sam Smith in 2014 from the ashes of punk band Sam Smith & Company. ‘The Parish Church Fire’ remained a studio project for 5 years before making its live debut in 2019. Sam was joined by Joe Roberts on drums in 2016, initially for just a single release ‘Locamente’. He was followed by John Bardsley on bass in 2017 and Tim Hughes was added to the line up in 2018 on guitar, crystallising the project as they began to rehearse in autumn 2018 for upcoming shows in 2019. Playing ’as live’ for the first time in 4 years, they have carved a dynamic sound that is as intricate as it is heavy, comparable to Afghan Whigs, Radiohead & Pearl Jam. In addition, the dynamic between the musicians in the band is very strong and the band was built solely on the provision that rehearsals would always be light, easy going and involve large amounts of beer.
