The Norton's Project

Este projecto nasceu de uma urgência de comunicar, de expressar, de partilhar, de criar, de libertar emoções e palavras, através da magia e da intensidade da música. As primeiras canções nasceram no Verão de 2008. Palavras e melodias espontâneas, celebradas através do piano ou da guitarra. No Natal de 2008, algumas destas canções foram gravadas numa primeira maquete. Na Primavera de 2009 esta maquete foi apresentada ao pianista, compositor e arranjador António Neves da Silva. António Norton e António Neves da Silva formaram uma dupla. Através da sua crescente cúmplicidade, conhecimento, espontaneidade e intuição deram outro corpo às canções. No Natal de 2009, o baterista Filipe Chaves e o Guitarrista Guilherme Marinho juntaram-se ao Projecto. As canções ganharam outra alma através das sonoridades da guitarra eléctrica, do ritmo e do balanço da bateria. Em Janeiro de 2010, o Contrabaixista Paulo Luz juntou-se ao projecto. Seguiram-se varios ensaios, com o propósito de gravar a maquete, aqui apresentada. Esta maquete teve ainda a colaboração da Violoncelista Ana Garcês e do Saxofonista Raimundo. Ambos deram outra vida e beleza às canções This project was born as an answer to an urge of communicate, express, share, create, set free emotions and words, through the magic and intensity of the music. The first songs came in the Summer of 2008. Spontaneous words and melodies, celebrated through the piano and the guitar. On the Spring of 2009, some of these songs were recorded in a Demo. This Demo was shown to the piano player and composer António Neves da Silva. Both created a group and through their growing cumplicity, knowledge, spontaneity and intuition the songs started to grow more and more. On the Christmas of 2009, the drummer Filipe Chaves and the guitar player Guilherme Marinho joined the project. The songs won another sold through the sonorities of the electric guitar, and through the rythm and groove of the drums. On January 2010, the Contrabass player Paulo Luz joined the band The band did some rehearsals and recorded the demo presented here. The demo had also the contributions of the Cello Player Ana Garcês and the Sax Player Raimundo. Both gave another beauty and life to the songs Um piano, um saxofone, um contrabaixo, uma bateria, um violoncelo, uma guitarra eléctrica e uma voz! Assim são os The Norton´s Project.
