The New Tribe

Formed on the campus grounds of Northwest University in the fall of 2014, The New Tribe set out to create a fun new sound for music lovers to enjoy. The band grew out of a love of writing and performing original songs by frontmen Peter McMurray and Phil Cerna. Drummer Josh Wiedenmeyer had played with Phil and Peter in previous bands, and Joe and Fritz had met the band through school. The group bonded over similar musical interests and a love of music in general. What started as fun practices and garage band shows slowly turned into a combined passion for performing and creating new sounds. Throughout the summer of 2014, Peter and Phil wrote while the band began playing at venues all across the Northwest. The band officially launched in the fall of that year. Since then, they have been creating as much music as they can and playing as often as possible.
