The Lagoons

The Lagoons are the musical project of brothers Ryan and Joey Selan. Born and raised in the suburbs of Calabasas, California, the duo gained an immediate cult-like following for their dreamy, atmospheric sound characterized by smooth vocals, intricate melodies, and lush production after releasing their debut single California followed by the Gems EP.

Since then the prolific duo has expanded their catalog, releasing four studio albums (Midnight Afternoon, Daybreak, Island Hopping, The Lagoons), three EPs (Gems EP, Escape EP, Surf Rock), and two live albums (Live from Malibu, Island Hopping: Live from Hermosa Beach) solidifying their reputation as one of indie music’s most consistent and reliable acts. The Selan brothers write, produce, and record all of their songs from their home studio in Los Angeles, channeling a DIY artistry with the polish of seasoned pros.

Their Southern California roots shine through their blend of indie pop, chillwave, surf rock, jazz, synth pop, and electronic music creating a unique sonic landscape that draws listeners in with its laid-back vibes and introspective lyrics. Their music feels like a sunset drive along the coast, carving out a niche sound that is nostalgic, cinematic, and effortlessly cool.
