The Jackson Rider is a music outfit that hails from Philadelphia. As brothers and musicians, they have come together to create and perform live original music. In the vein of Rock, Rhythm & Roots, Hip Hop and Soul, TJR likes to occasionally stroll the fine line of fusion. Take a little bit of Sublime, a pinch of Citizen Cope, a hint of the Avett Brothers, and you’ve got yourself a slice of Jackson Rider Pie. Delivering solid Indie credentials with a street savvy swagger, The Jackson Rider is undoubtedly making waves on the Philadelphia music scene and leaving sold out shows in their wake. TJR was recently awarded the "artist of the month" spot (April 2012) by local radio station 93.3 WMMR in Philadelphia. They've racked up local radio play and prime gigging real estate (World Cafe Live, House of Blues, Escape2NY Music Festival, The Trocadero, Tin Angel, Legendary Dobbs, Doc Watsons (RIP) and North Star). With their self-released debut album “Mighty Wind Blower” officially under their belt as of July 30th 2011, The Jackson Rider continues to grow in popularity – building a fan base and creating buzz beyond the local scope, and venturing onto a national level. Currently in the studio for their sophomore album, The Jackson Rider is bound and determined to climb as many rungs as they can on the musical ladder of their lives.
