The Hicks Canyon Band

Originally, the members of Work Friend met and began playing music together in their hometown of Laughlin, Nevada. They each came from different bands in the small but strong rock community there. "We'd catch each other's gigs around town. There aren't a lot of bands making original tunes out here. All of the big acts, you know, like Bostyx [a Boston and Styx hybrid cover band], they're all tribute bands, and they're good, but we each kind of wanted to start making our own tunes." The band formed and started gigging at all the venus on the Laughlin strip. "We were playing Gold Digger's, Pints, Bikini's, all of the good clubs. We were doing well out there, but sometimes success, no matter how small, can lead to dark places." The band decided to move out to California to clean up and get on a better path. www.workfriend.biz
