About The City Pines
The City Pines are a four piece band of multi-instrumentalists blending styles from disparate musical backgrounds. Drawing influence from contemporary folk, jazz, pop, classical, and experimentalism, the band continues to explore new sonic frontiers as fresh transplants to the Pacific Northwest.
Joni Clare, Nils Knudsen, and Myles Eberlein began as a trio in Milwaukee, WI in the fall of 2013. Returning from a long tenure in Vermont, drummer Chris Klug joined the band at the end of 2014.
As their name sake and instrumentation suggest, the Pines’s songwriting blends earthy, homespun arrangements and vocal harmonies with the pacing, pressures, and eclecticism of city life.
