DJ Blaque was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. For the last 25 years this Alaskan Grown DJ, has learned the ins and outs of not only the bar/club night scene but event promotions as well.
His journey as a DJ humbly began in his living room. With just a MacBook, starter controller and Virtual DJ, he set out to learn the craft. He has not disappointed, as an accomplished entity bettering himself each chance he gets. Blaque is not just a natural at creating a killer set, he's also amazing behind the mic. His skills as a talented DJ & MC has open new doors for him, and it’s not just all about the club. Kenneth is but is also experience when it comes to formal events such as school & corporate events, weddings, engagement parties, birthday's and even retirement parties.
He became a DJ not only for the passion of music but out of necessity; like most people, DJ Blaque was sick of bad music and entertainment at local clubs. His love for the passion comes from his teenage years, where he use to partake in extreme neon bowling at his local bowling alley. Listening to good local DJ’s like Manyacal, who sparked the idea that he could take matters into his own hands.
DJ Blaque officially started DJing in 2014 for a crowd at the World Famous Chilkoot Charlies in Anchorage at a weekly event called Open Decks. Since then Blaque has held a DJ residency at venues such as, Mad Myrna’s, Club SinRock, LED Ultra Lounge, The PlayHouse, Koots (Formerly known as Chilkoot Charlies). He has had the opportunity to play at Alaskan venues such as The Homestead Lounge, Main Street Tap & Grille, The Avenue, The Gaslight, Brown Bag Sandwich Co, Al’s Alaskan Inn, just to name a few. His passion has taken him out of state and given him the chance to play in Hawaii, Las Vegas and recently Washington state.
Blaque has also had the pleasure for opening or hosting events of headliners & major recording artists such as Mike Jones, Gorilla Zoe, Fatman Scoop, Afroman, Krizz Kaliko.
One thing you can count on is that DJ Blaque comes to every event with what so many other DJs forget: energy. He gets the crowd involved, invoking them to sing along and perpetuate the cycle of a high energy event
His philosophy is all about throwing an event that keeps the audience on their toes. He doesn't let them lose momentum; his shows aren't some recycled and expected playlist but rather, creative, uplifting, and are setting a new standard for DJs everywhere.
