The Blowback Horns

The BlowBack Horns are a Liverpool based riotous instrumental band made up by Tomos Luke on tenor saxophone, Jessica Riches on trumpet, Marie-Lou Frieden on baritone saxophone and Chris Morgan on drums and sporadic raps. With their baritone saxophone based songs that are mostly influenced by the likes of Fela Kuti, The Apples and Youngblood Brass Band, they deliver a mixture of funk, hip hop, Latin and African music. Some of their performances featured guest performers from established Liverpool bands such as The Soul Rays ‘BlowBack Soul’, Galactic Funk Militia ‘Flying Off The Ground’ and The Fire Beneath The Sea ‘WeebWoabWoadap’. By delivering high energy performances, they immediately captured and audience and have been invited to play at major events such as Fiesta Bombarda Carnival as well as had the offer to support international touring bands.
