The Avid Light

The Avid Light is a modern-rock band from East Texas. Singer Chase Castleberry and guitarist Tanner Terhune grew up playing music together in their church. Over the years, the duo formed a musical chemistry that led them to start a band. With the addition drummer Colton Baum in 2011, the group began writing music. Their musical influences include; Coldplay, Sigur Ros, The 1975, Switchfoot, and Radiohead. The band started to write new material, and booked studio time at Asterisk Sound in Waco, Texas. They released their first single, “The Beautiful Pursuit”, in 2012. After gaining strong support through their local community, the band successfully raised $15,000 through Kickstarter to continue recording their debut album at Asterisk Sound. The band worked with The Digital Age (formerly David Crowder Band members), to produce their self-titled album that was released in the summer of 2013. The album saw great success for a independent release, topping out at #34 on the iTunes Christian charts. Throughout 2014, the band began to evolve from a local worship band to a modern rock band. This evolution was founded in a renewed emphasis on writing original music. The band took a two-car garage, and spent most of 2014 converting it into a studio to write and record. Between playing over 50 shows and creating a studio, the band was able to self-produce and engineer their first Christmas album “A Christmas Experience”, featuring their single “This Christmas Time”. With a renovated studio, new management (Angel Wind Entertainment LLC.) and a renewed vision; the band has spent a majority of the year writing their first mainstream album.
