Thanks for Nothing

Thanks For nothing was formed in late December of 2003. Since then, they have played over 200 shows at many prestigious venues and events. With backgrounds from multiple styles of music, TFN has put together a sound that cannot be dubbed a certain type or genre. In their first year, TFN performed with many national acts such as Leon Russel, Afroman, and VANS WARPED TOUR fav’s Off By One. They hammered out almost 60 shows in their first year, and that is without even leaving Northwest Arkansas. With a set list of catchy originals and classic covers from bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rick Springfield, Guns N’ Roses, Paula Abdul, and Rage Against The Machine, TFN had no trouble finding a crowd to play to, or bringing one in. In TFN’s second year, they released their debut album “Crashlight.” They also earned 2nd place in a 45 contestant Battle of The Bands and completed over 60 shows. TFN was also nominated for Ozark Music Award’s “Best New Band,” “Best Modern Rock band,” won nominations in NAMA’s “Best Rock Band” category, and they also performed at the world famous “Bikes, Blues, and BBQ.”

In 2006, Thanks For Nothing really started picking up steam. Fans were piling into concerts and the band was traveling out of Arkansas more than they ever have before. They had the opportunity in December of 2006 and again in May of 2007 to share the stage with multi-platinum recording artist Bret Michaels of Poison. Later on in 2007, Thanks For Nothing would eventually sign a management deal with the very well respected “Hutch Entertainment” management/promotion/booking agency out of Memphis, TN. In August of the same year, they had the opportunity to play with, as well as strike up a friendship with, Collective Soul. Later on in the year, they would also share the stage with VIRGIN RECORDS artists Sick Puppies on their home stage, George’s Majestic, in Fayetteville. In November of ‘07, TFN performed the pregame AND halftime performance of the Memphis Grizzlies/Washington Wizards NBA game, then they played the Hard Rock Café on Beale later on in the night. In December, they performed with the recently re-grouped band, The Toadies. TFN spent their New Year’s Eve playing with Fastball. In 2008, with the addition of guitarist Jacob Doss, the band hit the ground running in a lot of new markets in the Midwest and Southeast U.S. In the first half alone, they shared the stage with many acts like Fastball for a second time, Cowboy Mouth, OneRepublic, 10 Years, One Less Reason, The Whigs, Theory of A Deadman, Eve 6, and Comeback Kid. They landed shows at Memphis' famous Peabody Rooftop Party with a performance on Channel 3's Live at 9 in the same day. (Audience of over 150,000)

In September, Thanks For Nothing released their second album, “Masquerade.” The album was recorded in NW Arkansas with Mike Bailey and Dream Makers Productions. Three songs off the album, one being a cover of Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up,” was mixed and mastered by Ross Hogarth (Jimmy Eat World, The Black Crowes, Motley Crue) at Hoax Productions. The rest of the album was mastered by Kevin Nix at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Thanks For Nothing are currently touring in support of "Masquerade."
