Preordained to become a cultural icon, destined to be one of the greatest and most influential artists on the scene, striving to remind the public of a simpler time from which he himself has arisen through evolutionary process, Trayz has entered the underground scene like a savage. Fulfilling a predestined inception, Trayz has combined his visions, beats, and lyrics which when merged into an explosive state of unity, depict the story of his life. It is Trayz’ raw emotion, his love, his pain, that is preached solely through his mic that never abandons its significance and has garnered the public’s attention. Born a child of persistence not privilege, Daniel Martinez, also known as Trayz, and his younger brother moved at a young age from New York to the Dominican Republic to temporarily remain under the eagle eye and scrutiny of his Grandmother, while Trayz’ mother stayed behind in the States trying to earn a living and provide for her children. He and his ailing Grandmother spent their days listening to the melodic sounds of Bachata and Merengue, dreaming of better days to come. It was during this time in his early life that Trayz was uprooted from D.R. and brought back to America, to enter the fifth grade, where he learned to observe everyone, but reveal himself to a few, a social skill that he has intentionally applied to his adult life as well. This explains his intimate yet consistent circle of friends who have attributed to his unique style, flow, and success. Motivated now more than ever by the birth of his second child, Trayz reflects daily upon the childhood friend he considers to be a mentor. This advisor of prosody not only introduced Trayz to the lyrical side of Hip Hop, but offered him guided instruction and exposure to artists such as Big Punisher, Nas, Common, and Rakim. It was only a matter of time before Trayz felt he too could express his deepest thoughts in the same unique art form as these artists. As essential as breath is to life, so has become the pertinence of referencing Trayz when conserving about the future of music.
