About Summer Osborne
Summer Osborne is an award winning American singer-songwriter who entertains audiences throughout the US and Canada with her magical brand of melodic and lyrically potent genre-jumping performances. She masterfully amalgamates the human condition, spirituality, truth, love and healing. When Osborne’s kaleidoscope of music is infused with her charismatic stage presence and naturally humorous personality, every show leaves the listener wanting more. Summer’s eighth album, As I Am, was released in June of 2013 to rave reviews and has been hailed as her best yet. Many fans are adopting it as the “sound track to my life.” The album is generously being played on various formats, including community and college radio and live streaming stations, as well as receiving play in Unity Church Services and professional counseling and therapy offices. “Grace” (Track 11) won a 2013 RightOutTV Music and Video award. Monica Soto, from Camp Magazine KC, says, “The beginning track explains it all — Osborne tells it like it is. She has a positive attitude and she is supremely talented. Osborne is soul to the bone and honest. When I was a judge for HRC’s Battle of the Bands, I saw Osborne do those riffs live. They are complicated to play, and Osborne pulls it off while singing at the same time like she was born to do it. Saying I was blown away is an understatement. Lyrically, the song ‘Stand’ is my favorite. It’s empowering in every way, and every LGBTQ person can relate to it. This album is riddled with so many great and catchy songs, but if I had to name some favorites, I’d choose ‘Battleground,’ ‘Follow the Love,’ and my absolute favorite, ‘Solution.’” As a testament to her power vocals, Mark Manning of KKFI 90.1 FM KC states, “I LOVE the new album, and I believe Summer has one of the most incredible voices singing today!!” Summer Osborne first graced the stage at the tender age of four, but has been performing her original tunes for fans since 2005. During that time, lyrics and melodies have been continuously flowing through her, resulting in eight albums. When listening to her entire catalog, one can certainly see her evolution as a songwriter. “Be Still,” from The Scenic Route (2012) earned a 2012 RightOutTV Music and Video award. Osborne and her manager / wife, Lori, are currently on tour promoting As I Am. When they are not busy being road warriors, they can be found on their family farm in Vandalia, IL. Since deciding to focus on her musical career (performing and writing) full time in 2009, Summer has remained on tour, doing shows at venues and festivals far and wide. Summer played at National Women’s Music Festival in 2012, and SXSW in 2012 and 2013. She has played music at Pridefests all over the Mid-West US & Canada, including: Pridefest St. Louis (2005-2013); Vancouver Pride – British Columbia, Canada (2011); Mid-MO Pride – Columbia, MO (2011-2013); Halifax Pride - Nova Scotia, Canada (2010); Mid-South Pride - Memphis, TN (2005 and 2010-2012); Springfield Pride - Springfield, MO (2009 and 2013); Kentuckiana Pride - Lexington, KY (2009); Metro East Pride - Belleville, IL (2008 and 2011-2013). Osborne has shared the stage with Holly Near, The Indigo Girls, Tret Fure, Melissa Ferrick, Melanie DeMore, Suzanne Westenhoefer, God-Des and She, Alix Olson, Andrea Gibson, Julie Goldman, Dana Goldberg, Big Bad Gina, Patrice Pike, The Dollyrots, Jen Foster, Sugarbeach, The Cliks, Crystal Waters, Martha Wash, RJ Helton, Jennifer Holliday, and Kimberley Locke. Summer Osborne’s only goal: to change the world by changing people’s minds about themselves… she needs LOVE, MUSIC, and YOU. Changing the world by changing people's minds about themselves... one song at a time!
