SOUTHERN DRINKSTRUCTION

SOUTHERN DRINKSTRUCTION born in Rome from an idea of the guitarist Pinuccio Ordnal in 2005, intending to create a band following the footsteps of early Heavy Metal, Thrash/Death Metal and Southern Rock, combined together. Going around gigs and shops to stick up flyers with “members for a rough and alcoholic band wanted” written on and the like, one night, while covering the umpteenth club, Ordnal meets a dear friend who tears up his flyer and tells him, pointing to Francesco Basthard: “Here’s your singer!”. Then the so famous “2 years, fuck” begin, among reharsals, line-up changes, curses and alcohol, until they find Andrea Eddie at drums. In the Summer of 2007, they record at Stefano “Saul” Morabito’s “16th Cellar Studios” their first 5-tracks Cd, “Southern Drinkstruction”, helped by Marco Cinghio (The Orange Man Theory / Buffalo Grillz / Hour of Penance) at bass guitar. The Ep begins to go around with good results and the name of the band spreads up at once. As soon as they find a stable line-up with Gabriele Male at bass guitar, in the Autumn of 2007 they begin their live activity, gig after gig. They work meanwhile on brand new drunken songs, carrying out the initial idea of centrifuge together Death, Blues, Southern, Thrash, Country, Punk, Rock’n’Roll, Doom and so on. The results are 11 songs bottled into the self-produced full-lenght album “Drink With Us”, out on 11st of September 2009, once again recorded at Stefano “Saul” Morabito’s “16th Cellar Studios” during 2009. In a few months “Drink with Us” receives a lot of good reviews, and the band promotes the album all around Italy and playing as headliner at the Black Sunset Festival in Albshausen, Germany, with good results. In april 2010 the bassist Male, because of food disagreement, quits the band; and here comes on board Carlo Zorro, great old friend. It’s the beginnig of a new chapter, that sees the band write their third record and perform many concerts. In december 2011 they sign with Despise The Sun Records for the publication of their second full lenght: “Drunk Till Death”, once again recorded at Stefano “Saul” Morabito’s “16th Cellar Studios”, 13 songs that represent a futher growth of the band, out on March 2nd 2012. The album collects many positive reviews, and helps their live activity to get more intense and brings the band to play with international bands and participation in important Metal Festival. In January 2014 they enter Hombrelobo Studios by Valerio Fisik to record a split with their friends Carcharodon. In May 2014 they take part to the cd / book tribute to Kiss "Kissed by Kiss" by Andrea Ciccomartino recording and reinterpreting with their style the song "I Stole Your Love" from the "Love Gun" album (1977). In October 2014 they sign with Carcharodon for Revalve Records for their new split release "Pizza Commando", out in 14 November, containing the cover "Zuppa Romana", by the German band Schrott Nacht 8. In January 2016 the guys enter Valerio Fisik's Hombrelobo Studios, for the recording of their new album: 10 tracks containing all of the band's major influences melt together. In July 2016, they sign with the German label Rotten Roll Rex for the release of their 3rd full-lenght: "Vultures Of The Black River", out on December 7th,2016. In giro tra concerti e negozi per attaccare volantini con scritto "cercasi componenti per gruppo grezzo e alcolico" e cose simili, una sera, tappezzando l'ennesimo locale, Ordnal vede arrivare un suo caro amico che gli strappa il volantino e gli dice (indicando Francesco Basthard): "Eccoti il cantante". Da lì iniziano i famosi "2 years, fuck" di prove, cambi di formazione, smadonnamenti e ubriacate, fino a quando non trovano Andrea Eddie alla batteria. Nell’estate del 2007, incidono ai 16th Cellar Studios di Stefano "Saul" Morabito il loro primo Cd, “Southern Drinkstruction”, composto da 5 pezzi, con Marco Cinghio (The Orange Man Theory / Buffalo Grillz / Hour of Penance) al basso. L' Ep inizia a girare con ottimi risultati e si sparge subito la voce dell'esistenza della band. Appena ultimata la formazione con Gabriele Male al basso, nell'autunno del 2007 cominciano la loro attività live con date su date. Contemporaneamente lavorano a nuovi pezzi, portando avanti l'idea iniziale di centrifugare insieme Death, Blues, Southern, Thrash, Country, Punk, Rock'n'Roll, Doom e quant'altro. Ne escono fuori 11 pezzi che vengono imbottigliati nel full-lenght autoprodotto dal titolo "Drink With Us", uscito l'11 Settembre 2009, registrato ancora da Stefano "Saul" Morabito nei 16th Cellar Studios. A pochi mesi dalla pubblicazione il nuovo lavoro riscuote subito apprezzamenti e la band inizia a promuovere il disco in tutt’Italia e non solo, suonando come headliner anche al Black Sunset Festival ad Albshausen in Germania. Nell' aprile del 2010 il bassista Male, per divergenze alimentari, lascia il gruppo, ed entra cosi' a far parte della band Carlo Zorro, loro grande amico di abbuffate e scorribande. E’ l’inizio di un nuovo capitolo che vede la band impegnata nella stesura del suo terzo lavoro, affrontando un live dopo l’altro. Nel Dicembre 2011 firmano per la Despise the Sun Records con la quale pubblicano, il 2 Marzo 2012, il loro secondo full-lenght: “Drunk Till Death”, registrato sempre da Stefano "Saul" Morabito nei 16th Cellar Studios, 13 pezzi che costituiscono un’ulteriore maturazione della band. L’album riscuote molte recensioni positive, contribuisce a rendere sempre più intensa l’attività della band dal vivo e li porterà a suonare con band di stampo internazionale e alla partecipazione a importanti Festival Metal. Nel Gennaio 2014 entrano agli Hombrelobo Studios di Valerio Fisik per registrare uno split con gli amici Carcharodon. Nel Maggio 2014 prendono parte al cd/libro tributo ai Kiss "Kissed by Kiss" di Andrea Ciccomartino incidendo e reinterpretando con il loro stile il brano I Stole Your Love dall'album "Love Gun" del 1977. A Ottobre 2014 firmano con i Carcharodon per la Revalve Records pubblicando il 14 Novembre "Pizza Commando", uno split contenente la cover "Zuppa Romana" dei tedeschi Schrott Nach 8. Nel Gennaio 2016 entrano agli Hombrelobo Studios di Valerio Fisik per registrare il nuovo album, 10 pezzi che contengono tutte le caratteristiche della band unite insieme. A Luglio 2016 firmano con la Rotten Roll Rex con la quale pubblicano, il 7 Dicembre 2016, il loro terzo full-lenght: “Vultures Of The Black River”.
