SOUL APART

ENGLISH: Soul Apart receives life at the end of 2004 when his vocalist, founder and composer (Guido Lisioli) decides to begin with a parallel project to his band of this then, Firewood. In a beginning the musical style would be orientated on something exclusively acoustic, but afterwards they would begin to be evident his clear influences of the metal and the experimental and progressive music. Once focused exclusively in Soul Apart, it begins the musicians' search to seat finally the band. The first member in joining the project was Daniel "Keky" Gonzalez who was keyboardist of Firewood also. Soon after the guitarist Edu Fonseca joined the band. In the running of 2006 G.Lisioli it does a turn in the style of his compositions and begins to fuse his material with elements of worldmusic, achieving this way a very particular and original merger. In the same year joins the bassist and multiinstrumentalist Rodrigo Gozalvez who have a really important role bearing his characteristics in mind as musician and the musical style of the band. One year after , Alejandro Moore(drummer) was in, and this way there is edited the first homonymous demo of the band " Soul Apart". The band receives excellent critiques of the local media and is so it begins an extensive tour playing acoustic sets,touring through radioshows,etc. At the end of 2008 was release the first album of the band called “Road to self”. An album that explores different elements of the whole world popular music´s but with metal music as a “•center” and a high protagonism of atmospheric climates supprting intrsopective lyrics about a personal existencalist crisis. This is a unique and original style finding diverses kind fo musics like tango,arabian,flamenco or celtic,always keeping metal music as the center. Media of the whole world people fulfilled excellent reviews it brings over of the musical offer of the band … At the beginning of 2009 the band suffers a severe change in the line up. So the new one are:Iván Solomonoff (keyboards), Sebastián ABT (drums) and Juan Paul Ordoñez (ex--Barilari) on the guitars, the last one as not stable member. The band has several presentations throughout the year so much in Argentina as in Uruguay. The band share stage together with Anneke VanGiersbergen (ex--The Gathering). Finally, in the middle of this year Ale Gard joins as stable member in guitars. At the beginning of 2010 Guido Lisioli as this way also Rodrigo Gozalvez y Ale Gard they are invited to be special guests of his line up in his Argentinenas conecrts...by one of the most importants musicians of the genre:Duncan Patterson (Íon, ex--Anathema, Antimatter). Meanwhile begins with the recordings of their new album, suddenly the same ones should stop because at half of year the the band receives an offer to fulfil an European tour realizing shows, acoustic concerts and interviews. So the band visits Germany, Greece, Spain and Portugal (being called by Duncan Patterson to fulfilling once again a tour by the above mentioned country) .Soul Apart was recognized by main press of the scene (Metal Hammer, Sixx, Promotions, Rockway, TNT Noise Tour, ProgRock,MMR Radio,Metalcry.and many many others) At the return of that tour, (end of 2010) the recordings continuing again and the new album was finished. The name is " Worldpain traveler " and count with special guests as Duncan Patterson, Jason Mercury (Minuetum, ex-Outloud), Despa (Presto Vivace), Marth (Territory), Alex Ortiz (Angkor) Laura Santos, between others. The album is released finally in march of 2011 and keep the spirit of the first one,about the endless fussion but some differences are clear.The music is ceartainly more heavy than “Road to self” and the lyrics are more philosophical and political than the first one,touching points like the curse of human race under the system they live and the consequences in an economical,cultural and spiritual ways... SPANISH: Soul Apart cobre vida a fines del 2004 cuando su vocalista, fundador y compositor (Guido Lisioli) decide comenzar con un proyecto paralelo a su banda de ese entonces, Firewood. En un comienzo el estilo musical estaría orientado hacia algo exclusivamente acústico pero mas tarde comenzarían a notarse sus claras influencias del metal y la música experimental y progresiva. Una vez enfocado exclusivamente en Soul Apart, comienza la búsqueda de músicos para asentar finalmente la banda. El primer miembro en unirse al proyecto fue Daniel “Keky” González quien fuese tecladista de Firewood también. Mas tarde llegaría el guitarrista Edu Fonseca. Hacia el año 2006 G.Lisioli hace un viraje en el estilo de sus composiciones y comienza a fusionar su material con elementos de worldmusic, logrando así una fusión muy particular y original. Ese mismo año se une el bajista y multiinstrumentista Rodrigo Gozalvez quién tendría un rol muy importante teniendo en cuenta sus características como músico y el estilo musical de la banda. Un año mas tarde se une el baterista, Alejandro Moore,y así se edita el primer demo homónimo de la banda “Soul Apart”. La banda recibe excelentes críticas en los medios locales y es así que comienza una extensa gira realizando sets acústicos por dichos medios. Ya hacia fines del 2008 se edita “Road to self” el primer disco de la banda, un disco que explora diferentes elementos de la música popular de todo el mundo pero cuyo centro es el metal y un alto protagonismo de climas atmosféricos que se ven sostenidos por una temática introspectiva en las letras haciendo referencias a crisis existenciales, etc. Medios de todo el mundo (MMR-USA-PRogRock-Polonia-Mertalcry-España- Rockway, Grecia-Metalheart-Francia-Blizz of rock-Noruega-entre tantos otros) realizaron excelentes reviews acerca de la propuesta musical de la banda… A principios del 2009 la banda sufre un severo cambio en el line up. Ingresan Iván Solomonoff en teclados, Sebastián ABT en batería y Juan Pablo Ordoñez(ex - Barilari) en guitarras, éste último como miembro no estable. La banda realiza varias presentaciones a lo largo del año tanto en Argentina como así también en Uruguay, llegando a compartir escenario junto a Anneke VanGiersbergen(ex –The Gathering). Finalmente a mediados de ese año se incorpora Ale Gard como miembro estable en guitarras. A principios del 2010 Guido Lisioli como así también Rodrigo Gozalvez y Ale Gard son invitados por nada mas ni nada menos que Duncan Patterson (Íon, ex -Anathema,Antimatter) para formar parte de su banda en sus respectivas presentaciones en la Argentina. La banda mientras tanto comienza con las grabaciones de su nuevo álbum pero las mismas se verían interrumpidas a mitad de año debido a la propuesta de realizar un tour europeo realizando shows, acústicos y entrevistas. Es así que la banda visita Alemania, Grecia, España y Portugal (siendo convocados una vez mas por Duncan Patterson a realizar un tour por dicho país).Soul Apart fue recibido por reconocidos medios de la escena (Metal Hammer, Sixx, Promotions,Rockway,TNT Noise Tour,etc) Al regreso del tour, hacia fines del 2010 se retoman las grabaciones y el nuevo álbum se ve finalizado.Su nombre es “Worldpain traveler”que cuenta con invitados de la talla de Duncan Patterson, Jason Mercury(Minuetum,ex Outloud), Despa(Presto Vivace),Marth(Territory),Alex Ortiz(Angkor)Laura Santos(Íon),entre tantos otros. El disco se lanza a principios del 2011 y si bien mantiene el sello característico del grupo fusionando metal con worldmusic, también se pueden ver diferencias claras con el primero. “Worldpain traveler” es un álbum donde el sonido general es mas pesado, mas directo, con mayor presencia de las guitarras y en lo que respecta a las letras las mismas tocan temáticas acerca del curso de la raza humana bajo el sistema capitalista y sus consecuencias económicas, culturales y espirituales.
