Sorrow Star

Complex yet easily listetning; often moody as glam rock anthems fuses with dirty/gritty sleaze rock with a touch of synth layers too; think Def Leppard meets Motorhead and mix it with industrial rockers Orgy the result will be something like Sorrow Star itself sound; Rock N' Roll with a Dark Twist. But what's different about this band? many bands in the glam rock business like to play safe; Sorrow Star isn't one of those, as the mexican based six-piece band dares to combine many styles that aren't necessary going in the same direction, still the result sounds extraordinary, these young musicians their really putting some hard work here; "We are really trying to do something very different here, very unique as cliche as it sounds, we all came from different musical scenes and backgrounds yet we have the same goal and open mind that is very important to make something that most bands are like scared to do or they just dont have the balls to play" tells lead singer Maren Odden. While most bands are talented enough and Sorrow Star isn't a the exception, we still wanted to know how this band was different from the already saturated rock scene where everyone wants to be the new the next big thing; why we should listen Sorrow Star?; "The talent is out there we acknowledge it, but there's a huge lack of the real "rockstar feeling" at least in our country everyone are just these cheese bands that sounds like Metallica if they play hard or The Strokes if they play soft; we respect the bands but it just get bored and you don't get any new out, its already played out" claims the flamboyant singer. While Sorrow Star is still a new band; is an uprising band and we wouldn't be surprised if these guys grew up wings and fly high at any moment, fast paced exceptional accords and groove breakdowns provided by lead guitarrist Axl Sicc and of course we cant leave out the solos which are brilliant and have that epic "larger than life" style; while you are listening the band live or in record comes the "often left aside" man behind the kit; guitarrist turned drummer Movc Tepes powerful and very solid drumming, dont let the man fool you even tho he's the less extroverted member in the band he's defintely a beast behind the kit; to sum it up with Maren's Odden sleazy singing reminicesnt of swedish bands a-la Vains of Jenna or Hardcore Superstar; you wouldn't believe the real mighty tunes these "So called Stars" can execute worth of huge stages to sing along with the crowd. To complete this line up we find the most recent recruit in the band Jett Olyver who is a very decent bass player, Oly as his bandmates call him shred very hard hitting "in your face"songs with reminiscent of Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx stage persona; perfect fit for the alredy party harder band; - Sorrow Star really know their biz and its to rock out like the old days but with a complete brand new fresh feeling. As their preparing to release 5 track EP on Lunak Records very soon followed by constant shows and tour dates; you should definitely keep an eye on these guys as they can and we are sure they will hit big time in the blink of an eye; the future of rock n' roll looks promising on hands of these stars.
