Shane Tully

Shane Tully is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter. He released his debut EP “Forward to the Rain” in July 2014. Since that time, he has been actively playing shows, both solo and with his band, and will be releasing his first full-length album this fall. Check out the first single "freak to me" at http://www.soundcloud.com/shanetullymusic. Tully grew up in Baltimore, MD, and began writing songs at the age of 16. After college, he moved to Boulder, CO for three years, where he would end up recording his EP. Up until that point, Tully wrote and performed alone, but the vision of a bigger, more accessible sound prompted his enlisting local musicians for the studio project. The bass and drums were recorded by session players Chris Engelman and Christian Teele, respectively, at E-Town studios in Boulder, which produced a tight-knit rhythmic foundation for future band mates Aaron Pettine (keys) and Mike O’Donnell (electric guitar) to create the textures that give these songs depth. On “Forward to the Rain,” Tully’s songwriting is equipped with soothing melodies and reflective lyrics, which, combined with the backing band, results in a sound that is spacious and spans the genres of folk, rock and pop. Since its release, "Forward” has been well received from independent music writers and music fans alike, with "Crocodiles, Infantiles" becoming a fan favorite. Presently, Tully resides in Brooklyn, NY and is playing shows as well as finishing up his debut full-length album, which will be released in 2017.
