Shady Drive

Started at the turn of the Millennium by founder/frontman Rob Hayes, the band has gone through several different name and lineup changes as "Lillian Gish", "Blues Junior", and "Double Shot" before finally settling into its current power trio format (with an occasional 4 - 7 piece lineup including keyboards and horns). Named in part after a sports complex/street in Rob's hometown and playing up a nickname he received while sitting in with The Tony Koussa, Jr. Band, sporting a black fedora and dark "shades". Shady Drive focuses on electric guitar based blues with a strong foundation in 60's & 70's rock 'n roll and some trace influences of today's popular modern rock acts. While covering fan favorites by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, CCR, The Beatles, The Blues Brothers, Eric Clapton, George Thorogood, Led Zeppelin, The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band and ZZ Top among others, they also incorporate these influences in their own original songs, like "Darker Shade of Blue", "Blue #9", "Can't Walk A Straight Line", "Goin' Down to C-Town", "One For The Road", "Please Come Back To Me", "Things You Never Said" and "What Do The Blues Mean To You?"
