Scott Brantley comes from a musically gifted family that is deeply rooted in its music, relationships and resolve. The gift of such talent handed down to him simply couldn't be ignored, and he has fully embraced the charge of delivering this gift to the masses. With inspirations like George Strait, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard & Alan Jackson, Scott has a devout focus on taking his music career head-on. What style of Country does Scott describe himself as? "Country-Country"...simply put. “There are so many adjectives that have been placed in front of country music to describe it these days–‘Pop Country,’ ‘Alt. Country,’ ‘Outlaw Country,’” he reveals. “That’s all great stuff, I just like to describe this sound as ‘Country-Country’–real, down-home, honest music that I love.” Scott is the very salt-of-the-earth, down home, small town community essence that his hometown in East Dublin, Georgia is characterized by. With a population of just under 3000, the Christian, family community is the heart of blue collar America and, in keeping with the his family tradition, he brings country home with heart. “My family name, without question, paints the real picture of who I am. I'd say I'm just like any of the folks of East Dublin, and even the smaller surrounding towns, and this entire listening audience and fan base for that matter,” Scott explains. “We’re middle class—working class—and my sound, dedication, motivation and values mirror that character to the letter—character built in America, a Brantley way of life.” Scott is also the accomplished songwriter, and has collaborated with some of Nashville's best: Jimmy Yeary, Carson Chamberlain, Mike Dekle, Bernie Nelson, & Wade Kirby....to name a few. And he's no stranger to the big stage, as he's headlined some of the major venues in the southeast...and has shared the show with some of country's best, such as Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Craig Morgan, Jamey Johnson, Darryl Worley, Jerrod Niemann, Tracy Lawrence...and many others. So you can see that he fits in to the top tier of the genre. Since it's what he seemed born to do, the process is actually second nature to him. Not to mention that he fronted a band that has won several awards including the "Georgia Artist of the Year" and three-time "Georgia Country Band of the Year". Not too bad. And the show he delivers? "Oh, it's definitely a high-energy, rockin' show! Don't get me wrong, it's country, and very true to my country influences...but there's energy. Lots of it!" Scott punctuates. Audiences won't be let down...and there's no telling what curve ball he may throw at them. "Sometimes I don't even know myself", he laughs. "Each time I seem to just bring something out of nowhere. I tend to keep myself on my toes. Guess you gotta come to the next show and see what I'm talking about." Scott has also aligned with another good ole boy who hails from Berea, Kentucky; as he has worked alongside the renowned producer Carson Chamberlain who got his professional start in the music business as a musician and bandleader for Keith Whitley. He was tour manager for Clint Black and Alan Jackson and, in 1994, advanced his career to take a seat as Director of A&R for Mercury Nashville. “I actually sought Carson out,” Scott introduced. “He writes and records music to my ears—the kind of music I want to record.” As a renowned songwriter, Chamberlain has penned several number one singles for Alan Jackson (“Love’s Got A Hold On You”/“Everything I Love”/“Between The Devil And Me”) and a big number for George Strait (“The Best Day”). From behind the board, he’s enjoyed award-winning success producing Mark Wills’ singles “I Do (Cherish You),” “Don’t Laugh At Me” and “Wish You Were Here,” and in 2002, Chamberlain produced Billy Currington’s debut album for Mercury Records. His most recent claim to fame is his work with newcomer Easton Corbin. “When you look at Carson’s history and his taste in music, it’s evident that he’s drawn to style of music that is in the same vein as mine,” Scott adds. “I feel like this is a relationship that is meant to be, and I'm honored to have worked alongside him in the studio. And I'm honored to consider him a good friend as well. If I ever need any guidance or assurance, all I have to do is pick up the phone, and Carson is there. He's pretty much a rock for me in my business." And the 'family' aspect of it all? Scott attributes family as probably the number one reason he's pursued this business in such a passionate way. “Thankfully, my family is my biggest support system and they know my goal to become successful in country music is to fulfill a childhood dream of mine, a dream they have come to share with me. They realize how much I love to play country music, and without the support of my wife and my daughter, I just couldn't do this. They love me more than I could ever probably return to them, and they want me to succeed at what I'm doing. That means more to me than some can understand. And that drive to make them happy is what will make me work harder each time I pick up a guitar." And it tends to reach much further than just the in-house support. "My dad was one of the most gifted artists I've ever known. He was, and still is, my best friend...and the one I always turned to when I needed advice...and he kept me on the right path. I miss him each day, but I know he has my back, and that is huge for me. And my mom, brother, and sister are just so much behind me as well, that I can't express to them what that means to me. And they're all talented. It's not uncommon to come to a show and see David & Tina are on stage with me. They have the craft too. It's in our blood." Scott Brantley just may have it all, as it were...and his day to shine seems to be peaking as we speak. His vocals are sweet; his writing style as simplistic as “Love Without End, Amen”, his musical stories as chilling in faint semblance as Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” A sound that is blind to generational appeal and significant in music contribution, Scott is “GOOD” for the soul (young and old) and just in time to bring “Country-Country” back where it belongs.
