Save Your Sympathy is in 2012 opgericht onder het initiatief van Brian Jacobs en Rick van de Mortel. Oorspronkelijk opgericht als een metal band valt Save Your Sympathy nu onder het genre Hardrock. Na verschillende veranderingen in de formatie is de band eind 2015 nieuw leven ingeblazen met de huidige bezetting.
