Sam August

Sam August has been described as believable, accessible and a breath of fresh air. Ontario native Sam August is a 27 year old singer songwriter who’s powerful vocals sound far beyond her years. This self-taught guitarist picked up her first guitar at the early age of 8 and since then has written over 100 soul-telling songs inspired by her life and influences from the world around her.
Growing up, she was drawn to a wide variety of music genres. She lists Sam Cooke, Carole King, Brandi Carlile, B.B King and The Goo Goo Dolls as some of her main influences. As a music-lover of the classics, you can probably find Sam rummaging through local vinyl record shops or your parent’s record collection in the attic in her free time. Naturally combining genres such as singer songwriter, soul, blues and folk Sam wishes to create a new sound and leave a positive impact through her relatable, uplifting music and her “Be yourself, dream big” attitude.
Since the early 2000s, Sam August has performed a wide variety of musical genres while captivating audiences of any size through modern covers, throwback classics, or her original writing. With her old soul yet youthful heart, truthful lyrics and warm smile, Sam has already begun to capture the attention of all ages.
