Eric Obina, formally known as Shorte, is the freshest sound in the music industry today. Obina has been working hard to get his music to the level it’s at today. While he is an up and coming artist, he is shaking the stages and making music that is sure to please. In February of 2011, Eric Obina released his first album, The Resume. The album created a buzz and served as his path of recognition and eventual stardom. “The project as a whole was mostly street oriented,” said a reviewer for www.reverbnation.com. “It felt dark for a good portion, with tracks that reign with thoughts of west coast supremacy to those that touch on tales of being a regular individual growing up in an urban environment.” Eric Obina credits his love for writing lyrics and making “feel good music” to his humble beginnings. The project showcased Obina’s incredible skills as a musician. The Resume also showcased his skill set not only in rapping, but also as a producer. Obina is no stranger to putting on a great live show. He has shared stages with the likes of Dorrough, Ying Yang Twins, Glasses Malone, Bone Thugs n’ Harmoney, Krizz Kaliko, Lil Flip and Jim Jones. Eric Obina was the only nominated hip hop act to perform at the Vans Warped Tour in 2011 in Seattle on the Ernie Ball stage. Obina’s hard work and dedication has continued and this is what turned him into a sharp, independent artist and businessman. As he grows as a musician, he hopes to one day build a successful empire as a singer, songwriter, MC, performer, and producer. Eric Obina’s last release, Fashionably Late, was released in June of 2011. Eric Obina considered this new album to be a very personal project, focusing on a variety of aspects on life that everyone can relate to.
