Rudhen

RUDHEN (Italia) I RUDHEN sono nati nella primavera del 2013 dall’incontro di tre amici: Luca De Gaspari (batterista), Alessandro Groppo (chitarrista e cantante) e Fabio Torresan (chitarrista). L’intento era quello di dar vita a una Stoner-Rock band. A loro si aggiunge, dopo poco tempo, Riccardo Rix Rigo al basso che verrà poi sostituito da Maci Piovesan nel 2015. L’attività live inizia nel gennaio 2014 e, da allora, si contano due EP (“Rudhen” del 2014 e “ Imago Octopus” del 2015), quattro videoclips (“Hellraiser”, “Black Spirit”, “My soul on fire” e “Arabian Drag”), nonché svariate date che li hanno portati, oltre che nei paesi del nord Europa (Slovenia, Germania, Austria, Danimarca), anche in numerosi paesi del nord e centro Italia. Già dal secondo EP Alessandro ha lasciato la chitarra elettrica per dedicarsi al solo cantato e nel 2017 è entrato Davide Lucato al basso, con cui è stato registrato il primo album completo, “DI(O)SCURO”, accompagnato dal videoclip del singolo “Magnetic hole” uscito ad ottobre dello stesso anno. Testi visionari ed evocativi, sì, e una musica pastosa ed ipnotica, che nel tempo ha virato non tanto verso il genere stoner (inteso come tradizione d’ascendenza Kyuss), quanto piuttosto verso il doom, ed è permeato da influenze psichedeliche. Se i primi due EP erano ancora marcatamente intrisi di elementi rock, “DI(O)SCURO” rappresenta un’evoluzione verso atmosfere più ossessive e fumose, che ricordano lontanamente gli Sleep ma non dimenticano la lezione dei padri del genere, i Black Sabbath, e sono coadiuvate da elementi di creatività individuale d’ogni componente. RUDHEN (Italy) Rudhen was born in the spring of 2013 by three friends: Luca De Gaspari (drummer), Alessandro Groppo (singer and guitarist) and Fabio Torresan (guitarist), they wanted to dial a stoner-rock band. After a short time Riccardo Rix Rigo joins the band as bassist and, in 2015, he is replaced by Maci Piovesan. The first live begin in January of 2014: from this date they produced two EP (“Rudhen” in 2014 and “ Imago Octopus” in 2015), four videoclips (“Hellraiser”, “Black Spirit”, “My soul on fire” and “Arabian Drag”) and many dates in the north of Europe (Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Denmark) and in the north and middle of Italy. From second EP Alessandro left the guitar and he has dedicated himself only to the voice. In 2017 Davide Lucato joined the band as bassist, and with him Rudhen recorded the first complete album: “DI(O)SCURO”; accompanied by the videoclip of single “Magnetic hole”. Evocative and visionary lyrics and a mellow and hypnotic sound which have gone, in the last period, to the doom, with various psychedelic inserts. If the first works was markedly rock, “DI(O)SCURO” represents an evolution to smoky and obsessives atmospheres who remember the Sleep, without forgetting the lesson of the fathers of the genre: the Black Sabbath, all supported by elements of individual creativity of the components.
