Roan aka RudeOne started listening to Jungle/Drum & Bass records at an early age. As his record collection/addiction grew he became more interested in the art of “deejaying” and at the age of 17 RudeOne secured his first club booking. RudeOne then moved to the UK a couple of years later where he gained more experience and eventually hooked up with the Knowledge Mag crew. He got invited to play at the their monthly event, Knowledge @ Cafe 1001 in Brick Lane. On RudeOne’s return to Johannesburg in 2004, he joined up with the Reflex crew and was soon known for his broad range of musical taste and talent, all over South Africa. In 2008 Roan realized that he plays a key role in the growth of the Drum & Bass scene in South Africa and together with Hip-Hop DJ, CutKeyLow, they formed the well-respected Science Frikshun Movement. RudeOne also started a weekly Drum & Bass night in Johannesburg called Addictshun and together with DJ Hyphen, co-owns Cape Town’s biggest Drum & Bass night, Pressure. His style is characterized by energy soaked sets that keep crowds stuck to the floor. Quick mixing, massive drops and an innate ability to read the crowd is what makes "the Rudeness" one of Africa’s finest!
