About Rip and the Rippers
Sex drugs and rock and roll is what comes to mind when you think of Rip and the Rippers.Lots of punk attitude,humor and heart.Their influences range from the raw rock n roll muscle of Guns n roses,Nirvana,and Iggy and the Stooges.Bold,brash, and in your face.Blending hard rock and metal with an industrial vibe, like T.Rex in a goth band. Influences include the sneer of Alice Cooper, the looped percussion of “Cyberpunk”-era BIlly Idol, the catcalling of Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe or the dark crooning of Danzig. One of my favorite songs of theirs is, "Am I your boyfriend?". The reason this particular song is my favorite is because it has that up-beat pop sound with a bit of 80's mixed in. The lyrics are fun and easy to sing along to. This awesome rock/pop band from Wilmington, North Carolina is worth taking a listen to.
