About Reign of Lies

Channeling their inner rage and bringing grit and groove back to the metal scene, Reign of Lies is revitalizing the genre, sticking to their roots and playing with a fearless conviction that is lacking in many of today’s bands. Upon inception, Reign of Lies was endorsed by the globally renowned clothing company “Keetch” whose endorsees’ include bands such as Meshuggah, Unearth and Fear Factory. After recording three albums and touring across Europe as a guitarist, Gianni Rosati “Giro” moved to Los Angeles and began his solo project Reign of Lies with the vision of finding musicians with the same passion and determination as himself. He went to the prestigious Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California and it was where he found those traits in Gregory Kate, Yoyo Bianchi, and Mashadi Maximus. Mashadi Maximus “Mash” is a Canadian guitar shredder. He has recorded and toured with numerous bands through South Asia, North and Central America. In 2011, Mash moved to Hollywood to further his career thus joining numerous bands as well as doing session work for artists. While in Hollywood he met Gianni, which led to Mash joining Reign of Lies. Reign of Lies’ debut album “The New Empire” was recorded in 2012 and the decision for Gianni to become the vocalist for ROL was taken two months prior to the recording of the album. Gianni worked on honing his skills as a vocalist within these two months with an intense practice regimen and dedication. In the summer of 2012, Reign of Lies began recording their debut album “The New Empire” which was mixed by Gianni Rosati then mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studio (Opeth, Soilwork…). The album was officially released in June 2013 under the label Keetch Music. In Summer 2013 ROL embarked on their first big tour throughout North America sharing the stage with Vreid, Lighting Swords of Death and Melechesh. They earned the respect of many media outlets and publications as well as develop a core group of fans. In the beginning of 2014 RoL released their first official music video, which has received a lot of attention from both fans and media alike. While planning tours for the summer and fall seasons of 2014, YoYo Bianchi- Reign of Lies exhuberant drummer left the group for professional reasons and continues to be a friend of the band. Within weeks of YoYo’s departure, Greg Kate choose to invest more of his time to education and personal growth thus leaving ROL officially. After a few difficult weeks, Gianni and Mash decided to find new members to complete the line up so Reign of Lies could tour in the Summer of 2014. After a few dismal auditions, the guys were thoroughly impressed by a talented drummer from Brazil named Gustavo “Gus” Campos. Gus has recorded and toured with numerous bands throughout Brazil. In 2011 he played in the band Solistico on their tour as direct support for Sepultura and Ratos de Poroa In 2012, Gus decided to move to L.A to attend the Musicians Institute as well as to become an International drummer. He graduated from MI in 2014 with honors. ROL eventually decided not to look for a bassist for this tour since Mash decided to utilize an innovative way to play both the bass and guitar parts via a modular rig set up that will ensure the tightness Reign of Lies is known for as well as give the band a unique sounds. Reign of Lies is currently writing their second album, which will go into recording and production as soon as they are back from their 2014 US Tours. Reign of Lies is ready to bring their unique style and presence to fans across the globe and immortalize themselves among metals elite.
