Recoil VOR (Voice Of Rule) formed in the early 2000’s having grown up together on a steady diet of Soilwork, Bodom, Pantera and feature brothers Wade and Evan McKay on vocals and drums respectively, Matt Martorana on guitar and Adam (Adz) Norbury on bass. Having successfully broken out of the Sydney dust bowl and toured the nation on three separate occasions, the guys made their way to the USA in support of their debut album, 2010’s The Will To Sin (New Justice Records), playing with Static X, Hed Pe, Kottonmouth Kings, Otep and The Haunted along the way. Their second album, the one you’re checking out now, is called Sleep For The Masses. It’s a themed journey the band takes as friends and musicians through life while cathartically venting about the things within it that get to us all. The listener can jump on or off the ride at any point or stay for the duration and experience its entirety. The albums 12 tracks work individually as well as painting a complete story. It was produced by Steven Knight and the band at Electric Sun Studios in the heart of Sydney industrial belt with Track 7, Unto The Paradox, featuring Hed Pe’s Jahred. With Sleep For The Masses, Recoil VOR have polished and refined their sound. Expanding their approach into more progressive areas and including more personal influences whilst retaining their heavy foundation.
