About Q-ic

Belgian born Luc Byltiauw (31/01/1977), aka Q-ic, has always been captivated by the enourmous impact of sound and picture. Driven by his passion he studied Audio-Visual Art & Cinematography in combination with his part-time job as sound engineer. In 4 years he mixed more than 400 live performances and in 1996 he decided to use his knowledge to produce his own music. Together with Axel Stephenson (the guy behind legendary tracks such as The first rebirth and Love is an ocean), Q-ic presented his innovating new sound in 2000. Releases on several renowned labels such as Universal Music, Pocket, Drought, HorSpielMusik, Ghoststyle, Reaktion & Zoo Records followed rapidly. In 2009, Q-ic confirmed his strong reputation with the release of his 2nd album "Eat this!", the follow up of the "Q-ic & Friends" album (2007). Both albums contain coproductions with some of the biggest names in the techno and harddance scene such as Marco Remus (de), DJ Bam Bam (usa), Kamikaze (can), Mr Eyez (usa), CJ Bolland, DJ Ghost, Coone, Ronald-V (fr), Lethal MG, Dr Rude (nl), Qatja S (nl) and many others. In the past 5 years Q-ic released numerous hit tracks like "Desire go higher", "Punk shock" & "Musique" to name a few. His tracks are supported by all the major players and have been playlisted more than 400 times on compilations & dance charts worldwide. In the same year Q-ic becomes A&R manager at Zoo Records and he starts up his own publishing house called ‘Q-ic Music’. To support the new generation producers in the tek- and jumpstyle scene, Q-ic makes 2 new sublabels at Zoo Records: "Fanatix" & "Sur+". In this way Zoo Records will represent all harder styles. In 2010, Q-ic broadens his productions with new alter ego’s in the house and dubstep scene. He also goes back to his roots with new techno productions with Marco Remus and he releases on Killaz (label of Torsten Kanzler). Q-ic Music and the expansion of the labels are new priorities and Q-ic signs some of the most promising producers of the harder scenes. With his labels Sur+ & Fanatix, Q-ic hosts label nights at various clubs and festivals such as The Qontinent & Sensation Black and there’s a cooperation with the German Miditonal imprint. Q-ic starts his residency in the legendary club ‘Cherry Moon’ next to his partner in crime DJ Ghost. OFFICIAL Q-IC FACEBOOK PAGE
