Positive Rising

Positive Rising was a Seattle based Reggae band who's members had been rooted in the local Reggae community for over 10 years. They formed in the summer of 2011 and brought a positive message put to catchy hooks and danceable grooves. Their vibrant energy on the stage always kept the crowd moving. Members Ian Ayers (vocals, guitar) Billy McIntyre (bass), Tyler Petersheim (lead guitar) Bret "Beo" Bailie (drums) & Bill Ulsund (keys, vocal) each added their own unique musical styles to help the band produce tight reggae grooves with a distinct sound all their own. In June 2015 they released their debut album Medicine Music which pushed them as frontrunners in the NW reggae music scene. Their second album was in the early stages of the recording process when the band split up in mid 2017. They've shared the stage with such national acts as Common Kings, Ballyhoo, Josh Heinrichs & Skillinjah, Kyle & C-Money of Slightly Stoopid, Mike Love, Annuhea, Natural Vibrations, Easy Star All Stars, House of Shem, The Movement, Fishbone, Ethan Tucker, Tomorrows Bad Seeds and Josh Fischel as well as local favorites Stay Grounded, Valley Green, High Ceiling, and Two Story Zori, just to name a few. It was with a heavy heart that we announced in July 2017 that Positive Rising will be taking a hiatus for the foreseeable future due to personal reason. We would like to thank all of our friends, family and loved ones for your continued support throughout the years.
