PLEXIGRASS was founded over 20 years ago with the intention of a group of talented musicians to play great bluegrass music. Over those twenty years, the outcome has been much more than that. The music is phenomenal and the bluegrass is what we like to call…Shatterproof!! DOUG, as the only original founding member came up with the name of the band and now manages the band. Playing lead and rhythm guitar, Doug’s licks are solid and diverse, his solos smooth and intense creating the driving sound this band has been known and loved for. Doug also lends his talent singing lead and harmony vocals. Doug says he enjoys managing the band because he is working with such a dedicated and talented group of friends/musicians! LANCE is Doug's brother and a long standing member of Plexigrass. He is very well known for his searing vocal leads, often carrying a note until time stands still, as well as contributing his dead on key harmony vocals. His bass riffs are like clockwork, laying a solid foundation for the band’s sound. Lance may not move much on stage, but the music he creates is sure to move everyone listening! Also bringing a new talent to Plexigrass, STEVE is a solid, hard-driving banjo player with a great sense of timing. His tasteful licks and “shatterproof” drive are sure to awe and amaze. Along with his brilliant banjo playing skills, DARRYL grew up listening to traditional bluegrass music. You could say it was in his blood as his Father and Brother were fine Bluegrass musicians. Darryl started out playing guitar, but years later saw a Jerry Douglas show and had his first Dobro a week later.Darryl does some lead and harmony singing and has also written some fine Bluegrass music! TERRY plays mandolin, sings lead and harmony and does the MC work for the band. She has played with Plexigrass for about 22 years. She's also played with various other groups such as C&T Bluegrass, Cannonhole Rounders and also Kithcart Family Bluegrass. We welcome her back! Shatterproof Grass!
